In December 2019, Doretta was featured in the Austin Gem and Mineral Society’s newsletter. She spoke about her inspiration from her late grandfather, Harold Conner. Mr. Conner spent his retirement years in the 1960s and 70s casually rock hounding and meeting friends at area rock shops and gem and mineral shows. He cut and polished stones into lovely broaches and pendants, gifting his jewelry to family. Austin Bead Gallery

December 2019 through January 2020

It was such an honor to be a featured artist at the Austin Bead Gallery this holiday season. My display was so beautiful and we even had a “Sip and Shop” one evening where the shop was open after hours for guests to enjoy a snack and a drink while browsing the jewelry and their shop. Special thanks to the wonderful Bead Gallery family for welcoming me into their world.

This is becoming on of my favorite reoccurring events. Round Rock has a local artists’ venue for folks to sell their wares in the Prete Plaza across the street from the library.

I was so very humbled to receive an award at the Round Rock Arts and Culture event this month.

New Shop Equipment

October 2019

With my business growing, I’ve found the need to have new equipment for my studio. This will help increase pendant production and gives me a lovely view of our back garden as I work. New additions include a flat lap and trim saw. Check out the first batch of pendants I created on the new machines.

Chalk Walk

October 4 and 5 we joined the many talented artists to at Round Rock’s premier event Chalk Walk 2019. The City of Round Rock held the event at its new location at the Dell Diamond.
